Sorry, I'm back with the updates: After almost 5 hours of waiting, my mother came home. She had an x-ray of right arm and leg but nothing broke, just had scratches, pain and a cut and very swollen hand, and today it is much better. She was lucky. The doc gave her a 4 days license to rest and not work and it's her right. At first I barely knew what really happened but she told me that she was by bike walking on the right side two blocks from home and a guy in a car tried to enter the street on the right while she was passing by because according to him he assumed that she would enter that street too. She said he stopped to see how she was but it seemed like he was going try to do the situation seems light since she was still alive but he asked if she wanted to go to the hospital then my neighbor saw the situation and went to help. She said that even the children who were playing with their bikes also helped pick up her things. As my neighbor showed up and seemed to know the guy and said he knew my mom and talked about the hospital, the owner insisted more on helping and took her to the hospital, and my neighbor came to tell us to go to the hospital and bring the bike, which yes, suffered some damage. My brother went by bike and stayed with her. She said the guy paid for the Uber for her to come home. (I have lot of side notes about the guy but I'll save it.) Thankfully, I live in a country where it is easy to get free medication and care so he didn't have to pay and since I know my mother it's unlikely that she asked for the compensation she deserved to fix the bike. Knowing her, if my neighbor hadn't insisted, my mother wouldn't have gone to the hospital. It's not the first close call for her who works by bike, even in a quiet city of only 35k but it was the first time that it could actually have been a tragedy. March last year, a few days before my brother's birthday, a tow truck didn't see him riding his bike near a corner also at the beginning of this same avenue. He was lucky because he managed to throw himself off but not so much the bike so he went to the police to ask for his rights and he managed to do so. As I said, on the avenue as the street in front of my house, many children ride their bikes after school and it's scary how ❄︎s, as always, are not aware that they are responsible not only for their own safety. I don't have children, but I wouldn't put a child's life at risk for my own benefit. Be it a child, a mother, a sister or a grandmother, a grandfather, being conscious in traffic certainly does not harm anyone. To arrive late or not to arrive at all, that is the difference and the option. 🏳️ I cannot express my gratitude for having this place, my safe place where I pour everything out when I can't take it anymore and everyone who always gives me a word of comfort and hope. It may not be much but it is, it helps me not to lose sight of the light. It's pretty obvious that I don't have many trustworthy people close to me in real life even if you don't remember me, right? haha it's what it's Thank you so much ATINY, I always wish you the best 🤍 #atiny_log
